If You Feel Like You’re Losing, Don’t Give Up! It’s Not Too Late To Win
If you feel like you haven’t won yet, it’s still not too late. You can make up your mind that you’re going to win no matter what your situation looks like.
There are two minutes left on the clock.
Sharmane wipes the sweat from her brow. She steps to the line for two free throws.
Thoughts are racing through her mind…
“There is so much pressure!”…
“If only I had made the last six free throws, we wouldn’t be in this position”…
“I haven’t made one free throw the entire game, and here I am at the line again and my team is depending on me to win…”
The crowd is silent.
Sharmane is faced with a decision:
Focus on her past. Or focus on the next two free throws.
Right then, she hears her always too loud Uncle Franky in the crowd. Breaking the silence, he yells,
“You got this, girl!”
She steps to the line, dribbles two times, bends her knees to shoot, and she watches the basketball roll off of her fingertips and into the air.
Nothing but net.
Just like Sharmane, we have all been faced with tough circumstances that remind us of past failures. We may have dropped the ball, had a few turnovers, and missed a few shots. We may have even shot a few air balls.
But it ain’t over ’til it’s over.
So be encouraged, because it’s not over until your clock hits zero.
If you are living and breathing it’s not too late to make a game changing play to win with money and in life.
The hardest part of moving from losing to winning can be changing your mindset to focus on your future successes instead of your past failures.
You have to say to yourself,
“It’s not too late for me to turn this thing around!”
And when you say it you must believe it.
That, my friend, is the difference between average and extraordinary.
An average mindset will cause you to be focused on your past and to be dominated by previous failures. On the contrary, your success mindset causes you to look at the past as a learning experience, to evaluate the situation, and to say,
“It’s not too late to get it right!”
You still have time on the clock. When you change your mindset, you can change the game. And when the game is changed, it’s yours to win.
Philippians 3:13-14 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
