Are You Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired?
Getting Fed Up is One Of the First Steps to Changing Your Future…
Sometimes we have to get downright disgusted to have the guts and change our situation. Are you to that point yet?
You’ve seen it.
You may have even experienced it.
An overhaul of the upper management of your job.
The coach of your favorite football team gets fired, and a new coaching regime is brought in. Or maybe it was that son or daughter who, from one day to the next, went from seeming like they’d never be potty trained to all of a sudden…they’re a pottying machine!
My question for you is two-fold:
Did your child get it? Or was your child tired of walking around in a dirty diaper?
Was the coach a bad person? Or was the team tired of losing?
Was the upper management too inexperienced? Or just was the company’s bottom line too low for too long?
There’s a saying that goes,
“Change happens when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change.”
Changes in a company structure can be scary for everyone involved — even for the owners.
But even so, it is the owner who is responsible for the vision of the company and for seeing that everything is moving in lockstep. If he or she sees that changes need to be made, the conclusion might be that heads will roll!
And quite honestly, that can be pretty uncomfortable for everyone. While it’s uncomfortable, it’s also necessary.
Well, have you ever heard that sometimes you have to slow down in order to speed up?
In given situations, that statement holds true, and that’s likely the reason why an owner of a company will decide to make hard decisions.
What are you tired of?
- Have you gotten tired enough to do whatever it takes to change?
- Are you tired of being broke?
- Are you tired of worrying about having enough to retire?
- Are you tired of being in poor health?
- Are you tired of working your fingers to the bone with little pay off?
- Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?
You are the owner of your company! You are in control of the vision of your company.
And sometimes you will have to make uncomfortable decisions for your family. Maybe it’s time to cut back on your bi-weekly trip to your favorite soul food restaurant (You know you can fry your own fish at home).
Or it might be time for you to cut back your cable package. Do you really need every movie channel that your cable provider offers?
As the owner of your company, your vision needs to be extremely clear.
The good news is that when your vision is clear, some of those seemingly hard changes come a little bit easier. Why?
Because you have clarity, you will know what you want as well as what you don’t want… and the two are equally important.
I challenge you. Make two list: One of what you want in life and the other of what you don’t want.
Then make the decisions to align your actions with your list. Choices are only hard when you don’t know why you’re making them.
So let’s get fed up with what’s wrong, and get fired up to change it!
If you get fed up enough, you’ll find that you’re that much closer to living your dreams.
